A refined set of seven Cos chairs, designed by Josep Lluscà for Cassina in 1994.
 
 
The Cos chair was conceived for both domestic interiors and high-standard office environments, combining warmth, solidity and carefully structured design. Its gently curved backrest and softly shaped seat create a fluid, sculptural silhouette, while the ergonomic form subtly adapts to the body.
 
 
This set is executed with dark-stained beech wood frames and black leather-covered seat and backrest elements. The finish gives the chairs a refined black-on-black appearance, while the visible wood grain in the frame adds warmth and depth to the otherwise monochrome composition.
 
 
According to the designer’s documentation, the Cos chair was produced with a wooden base structure in cherry or beech, while the seat and backrest were made with high-density polyurethane and upholstered using an advanced seamless in-mould technique. The precise detailing and high-quality finishings were central to the design, underlining Cassina’s production standards of the period.
 
The Cos chair received an ID Honourable Mention in Furniture in the 1995 ID Magazine Annual Design Review in New York.
 
A strong and elegant set of seven Italian design chairs, equally suited to a refined dining room, executive interior, gallery-like space or contemporary architectural setting.

Good vintage condition with small visible signs of age and use. The black leather shows surface scratches, light marks and natural patina throughout. The dark-stained beech wood frames show minor wear.
