Brutalist Oak Dining Chairs, Netherlands, 1970s – Set of 6

A striking set of six Dutch dining chairs from the 1970s, executed in solid oak with a strong architectural presence.

The design is defined by its robust, almost monolithic construction, softened by a subtly curved backrest that adds both comfort and visual balance. The thick, solid frames emphasize craftsmanship and materiality, characteristic of late 20th century Dutch modernism with brutalist influences.

The seats are upholstered in a coarse woven fabric, which complements the dark-stained oak beautifully and enhances the natural, tactile quality of the pieces.

These chairs originate from a dining set produced in the Netherlands by AZS Meubelen, Schoonhoven.

Well-proportioned and comfortable, suitable for both contemporary and more character-driven interiors.
