Mid-Century Zebrano Bed by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform, Belgium 1960s

Mid-Century Zebrano Bed by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform, Belgium 1960s

Elegant and minimalistic bed designed by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform in the 1960s. A refined example of Hendrickx’s architectural modernism, combining a wall-mounted zebrano veneered headboard with a black lacquered wooden frame resting on chromed cylindrical legs. The headboard creates a floating, horizontal composition that feels light and perfectly balanced.

The night shelves are reversible, allowing either the warm zebrano veneer or crisp white laminate to be shown on top. This subtle versatility, together with the contrasting materials, reflects Hendrickx’s eye for proportion and functionality. The bed retains its original black lacquered wooden frame with a metal mesh base and presents in very good vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age and use.

A sophisticated and rare piece of Belgian mid-century design, timeless in both form and execution.
